Wacky and amusing diet story of the week:
In the 1970's, Robert Linn, M.D., prescribed a program called the Last Chance Diet, on which people ate nothing but a liquid protein drink consisting of collagen. Ingredients included pre-digested animal hides, tendons and slaughterhouse byproducts combined with sweeteners and artificial flavors. Each drink contains less than 400 calories per serving making this a starvation type diet. His book sold over 2 million copies. The FDA stepped in after several Last Chance dieters died- some of heart attacks.

Wacky and amusing diet story of the week!
The Vision Diet:
A Japanese inventor is credited with the idea of a vision diet. The vision diet requires eaters to wear blue lens glasses so that their food appears a blue color, which apparently is unappetizing. It is based on the principle that foods in the red/yellow spectrum look the most appetizing, and thus should be disguised so that you won't find them appealing. This may be a main reason that some fast food chains use these colors in their logos.
